Refund and Cancellation Policy

Refunds are reviewed case by case and aren't guaranteed. Where this page says a refund is made in full, it always is. This page explains when we consider one and how it works. It is part of our Terms of Service. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay, usually within 5–7 working days.

Before you pay - You can edit or delete a draft case at any time. Nothing is charged. Unpaid drafts are deleted automatically after 15 days.

After you pay, before a specialist is assigned - You can ask to cancel by writing to support@medicalopinion.in. Our team reviews the request.

If the specialist you chose isn't available - Our team may suggest another specialist in the same specialty. If their fee is the same or lower, you can accept and the case continues; a lower fee's difference is refunded after the opinion is delivered. - If their fee is higher, you can pay the difference to continue. - If you decline the suggested specialist, we refund your payment minus a transaction fee (currently 3%). This applies only before any specialist has been assigned.

If your reports or details don't match the patient - We ask you to correct them within the time shown on your case (currently 24 hours). - If our team finds this before a specialist is assigned, you can instead cancel the case and get your payment back minus a cancellation charge (currently ₹199). - If they aren't corrected in time, or the corrected details still don't match, the case is closed without a refund, as you confirmed before paying.

After a specialist has been assigned - Payments aren't refundable on request once a specialist has been assigned, because the specialist's time is reserved for your case. - We may still refund the payment after reviewing your case, for example if the opinion isn't delivered. You can ask up to 3 days after the opinion is delivered. - A refund is not given because you disagree with the opinion, or because it says the information isn't enough and recommends tests or an in-person consultation. - If you don't reply to the specialist's request for information within 24 hours and the opinion is written on what's available, that is not a reason for a refund. - If the assigned specialist declines or can't continue, we offer another specialist. If you don't want them, or no other specialist is available, we refund your payment in full.

Payments that go wrong - If money is taken but your case doesn't show as paid, or you are charged twice, write to support@medicalopinion.in with the payment details. A duplicate or failed payment is refunded in full once confirmed. Banks often reverse failed payments on their own within a few working days. - Fees charged by your bank or card issuer, for example for international cards or currency conversion, are not refunded by us. - Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. If a chargeback is raised while a case is in progress, we may pause the case until it is resolved.

Other situations - Deleting your account does not by itself lead to a refund. - If we close a case because the Terms were broken, for example because of false information or abusive behaviour, no refund is due, except where the law requires one. - If we stop offering the service, cases not yet assigned to a specialist are refunded in full, and cases already assigned are completed or refunded in full. - If a case is closed because the patient, or another parent or guardian, objects to it: before a specialist is assigned, we refund it in full; after that, refunds are reviewed case by case. - If we learn after payment that a case is about a person who has died, or was raised to assess another doctor's treatment for a dispute, we close it and refund it in full.

Discounts - A refund is of the amount you actually paid, after any promo code discount.

How to ask for a refund - Write to support@medicalopinion.in with your case reference and the reason. Our team reviews each request and replies by email. - If you're not satisfied with the outcome, write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@medicalopinion.in.
